Richard is the founder and president of Gulfstream Wealth Partners (GWP). Before establishing Gulfstream Wealth Partners in 2021, Richard served as Director of Portfolio Management at Alvarium Investment Advisors (formerly Guggenheim Partners Latin America). In this role, he worked closely with ultra-high-net-worth clients, specializing in portfolio construction, market research, manager and real estate co-investment due diligence, and client relations. Prior to his tenure at Alvarium, Richard worked in Corporate Finance at MasterCard, where he managed the P&L for a business unit responsible for generating over $300 million in annual earnings.
Richard’s time at Alvarium Investment Advisors, a multi-family office, profoundly influenced his perspective on financial services. He observed that middle-class families often lacked access to the type of comprehensive services available to high-net-worth clients. Additionally, many firms offering such services prioritized their own profits over their clients' needs, charging high fees that diminished investor returns and employing complex strategies that limited client influence over their portfolios. Gulfstream Wealth Partners was founded to address these gaps, providing tailored financial plans to all clients—particularly middle-class families—at a low cost. The firm is dedicated to employing cost-efficient strategies while empowering clients through education.
Richard was born and raised in Miami, Florida, to a Cuban American father and a Greek American mother. A graduate of Christopher Columbus High School, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Florida and a Master of Science in Finance from Florida International University. Richard and his wife, Veronica, are the proud parents of two boys, Auggie (3) and Sam (1). In his free time, Richard enjoys spending quality time with his family, taking joy in watching his sons explore new experiences and relish life’s simple pleasures. He hopes they will one day follow in the footsteps of their parents and grandparents by becoming fellow University of Florida graduates—Go Gators! When it’s not football season, Richard loves outdoor activities such as golf and fishing. Committed to giving back, he also takes pride in serving those less fortunate and actively engaging in his community.
